Shimano makes three different cleats to fit their performance road pedals. You'll know when it's time to replace them when the coloured wear-indicator tips are worn out, or when that silky-smooth clipping in-and-out motion gets a little less smooth. Use these with Shimano-brand road pedals only. They'll fit 3-bolt road shoes, and come in three styles; the Shimano SH10 SPD-SL Red is fixed—no float, the Shimano SH12 SPD-SL Blue has 2 degrees of float, and the Shimano SH11 SPD-SL Yellow has 6 degrees of float.

Shimano SH12 Cleat (Blue)

The Shimano SH12 SPD-SL Cleat Set Blue is perfect if you need a small amount of float but don't want to waste energy with excess movement.

Shimano SH11 Cleat (Yellow)

The Shimano SH11 SPD-SL Cleat Set Yellow is perfect if you need the maximum amount of float, making it easier on knees and letting your body find its natural pedal stroke.

Shimano SH10 Cleat (Red)

The Shimano SH12 SPD-SL Cleat Set Red is perfect if you want absolutely zero float, locking you into a fixed position on the pedals so every ounce of power you put down goes into moving forward.
