The Maxxis Assegai is one of the most respected names in gravity MTB. Named after the iron-tipped spear of the Zulu people — Greg Minnaar's nod to his South African heritage — the Assegai was designed to deliver tenacious, predictable grip across the entire tyre profile regardless of lean angle, terrain, or conditions.

This version runs the Downhill (DH) casing — two layers of 60 TPI material combined with a large butyl sidewall insert — making it the most durable and protective option in the Assegai range. Spec'd with 3C MaxxGrip, the stickiest compound Maxxis makes, and E25 certified for e-bikes with pedal assist up to 25 km/h.
