The Maxxis Assegai delivers tenacious, predictable grip across the entire tyre profile regardless of lean angle — and this 27.5" version brings that World Cup-proven performance to riders on 650b bikes. Named after the iron-tipped spear of the Zulu people, the Assegai was built to go fast everywhere.
This version features the Downhill (DH) casing — dual 60 TPI layers with a large butyl sidewall insert for the most durable and protective option in the Assegai range. Spec'd with 3C MaxxGrip, the stickiest compound Maxxis makes. E25 certified for e-bikes up to 25 km/h. Whether you're riding Glentress, Nevis Range, or your local trail centre, the Assegai has the grip and casing integrity to back you up.
